Dance Classes
Have you ever wanted to try Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and ballet and thought it was too late! Divalicious Dance Classes are designed to suit all types of divas. Our dance classes are designed to help you get fit, express yourself, be creative and take all that tension out on the diva dance floor to our funky music. All classes will have a 15 minute warm-up and 10 minute cool down and you will learn a catalogue of moves to put into a funky routine. So get ready to get your groove on.
Divalicious Ballet: (1hr class)
Ever dreamt of taking ballet classes but thought it was simply too late? Are you looking for an exciting and enjoyable way to get fit, toned and supple? Our adult ballet classes are specifically designed for those from the age of fifteen onwards. From absolute beginners through to those who have danced all their lives, all classes are conducted in a friendly, non-competitive and non-judging environment. Your instructor will guide you through steps, poses and graceful movements including pointed feet, rising, jumping, stretching and spinning.
Divalicious Contemporary: (1hr Class)
Contemporary is a gentle, balanced way to keep fit and stimulate your mind and be creative, or just a funky, soulful expression of movement. It’s your class and a way for you to express yourself. In this class you will develop efficiency of movement and increased body awareness. Contemporary helps improve posture, releases tension and strengthens and tones, so get ready to express yourself Divas!
Divalicious Jazz: (1hr Class)
Jazz is a high energy dance style and is usually quite fast and up beat. It is extremely popular with all ages and is great for strength, technique and flexibility. Jazz dance has many styles ranging from the more formal Broadway style to the currently very popular hip hop or street style jazz. In your first week of class you will pick a style you would like to work on for the next four weeks and learn a routine to use all your new moves.
*Ballet is highly recommended as a supplement class because most jazz steps are derived from ballet
Divalicious Tap: (1hr Class)
Tap dancing is another great form of expressing yourself where you use your feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. Tapping improves co-ordination and uses your arms and upper body to blend movements of ballet and jazz. It’s a loud and energetic class that is sure to release all your tension.
Divalicious Burlesque: (1hr)
At Divalicious learn all the cheeky, yet, glamorous moves that make burlesque the fabulous art form that it is. Explore and learn slow and sexy sequences with fans and feather boas. Elise will warm you up and show you the fabulous technique of burlesque you will apply all your new cheeky but glamorous moves to a routine that will have you reaching for your fishnets and boas so bring out your diva in a comfortable fun environment.
